Hey there, nandu.
What exactly are you trying to format? Is it an external drive, a flash drive, an internal HDD, an SSD, etc?
Anyways there are some basics which you could try with all of these, like to try out the device with a different computer and try formatting it again, to see if the same issue persists. Or try out a different cable if it's a hard drive. Or try with the manufacturer's formatting tool if it's a flash drive.
Please let me know how it goes and if possible, share some additional info regarding the issue.
