HP laptop screen will not work

Today , just now my HP pavilion laptop screen has stopped working , it is not touch screen. The screen is not black as such , it is the dark blue/black colour you get whilst loading , it goes black when not used for a while , like a normal working screen would. The brightness is also working yet no display? How can I solve this

Apart from Blue screen did you see active cursor there?

Have you tried an external monitor to see if you get a signal?
