Why do I need to use eject my usb?

Hi, I know that you're supposed to eject stuff before pulling it out of a computer but why?

Because the computer buffers data being written to the device. If it has not completed those buffered blocks of data you will loose the data and sometimes render the device unusable until reformatted.

Ejecting the device forces the final data to be written.
