My HP laptop sound just stops working sometimes

Hello,
Sometimes when i'm on my computer my sound just stops working and it won't work for my headphones either. I checked my sound settings and they're all fine but the sounds stops working for every program not just one. If I restart my computer it works fine, i'm just wondering if there's a better solution.
