Hello sahib,
I'm sorry for the situation that you have. Please, check our knowledge base for troubleshooting steps: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=s5vpAQ I hope you find there useful something.
Have you checked your externa WD drive with our software Data LifeGuard Diagnostics? A free link for download you can find here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=v9IBmW Please, post the results of the extended test.
What do you see when you enter the Control panel>Computer management>Disk management ? Does the WD My Passport have any drive letter assigned to it or not? If there's an unallocated space shown, you have to manually assing a drive letter by clicking with the right button of your mouse and change drive letter and paths. If the system requires format, don't allow it because you will lose all of the information stored on the external drive.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
