Could you tell me if the drive is recognized in Disk Management and in Device Manager? Is this an external drive?
If the drive is visible in Disk Management, check if it has a drive letter and a correct file format. Uninstall it from Device Manager, restart the PC and connect the drive. It would be great, if you test the drive on another PC and with another cable. Happens the same?
