WD passport 0730 will not work on PC after use on Mac

Hello,

I have had my external hard dive for years and had no problem. One day I used it on a MAC computer in order to get some photos, yet after that day it did not work on my computer (I am using windows 7). It is not recognized at all. How do I detect it again, yet without loosing anything that I have on it?

Hi alienmonkey,

I am sorry for any difficulties cause by your My Passport drive. Could you please check if the drive is visible in Disk Management? Does it have a proper file format? Try changing the drive letter. Search for the drive in Device Manager. Uninstall it, restart the PC and plug the drive back in. Try the device back on the Mac. Can you access the data? I strongly recommend you to check the drive on another Windows PC with another USB cable.
