Call of duty 4 - iw3mp.exe has stopped working

Hello, my multiplayer works fine, every public game, normal mod and promod, no problem; but as soon as I get a connect (like /connect 78.xxx.xxx.xxx:24200 ; password <omitted by mod>), I connect to the game till I arrive to the following screen: 1. Attack, 2. Defence, 3. Autoassign and so on and THEN IT KEEPS CRASHING, EVERYTIME giving me the error: iw3mp.exe has stopped working.
Can anyone help me maybe? It would be great, thanks a lot

I solved the problem myself, maybe it'll be helpfull for somebody else in the future: I used two commands for the console to put the game in a window(and not fullscreen) and then I pu the fullscreen back on. 1. /r_fullscreen 0 (normally its 1); 2. /vid_restart => the game will be in a window. Repeat the process putting back 1 instead of 0 and the second command and the game will work fine.
