I have an old acer extensa 5235 and I want to competely reset it. With it being a little old it didn't come with a disc to reset it. It won't turn on properly so I've done the acer eRecovery management. Once it starts to load it gets to about 40% then crashes and doesn't load anymore and then comes up saying error, or it will get up to 40% then go to the next bit where another loading bar will come up but that only loads up to around 2% then comes up with the error bar again, I've tried this several times and it still isn't working, is there any other way I could do it or get around it?

It sounds like yourr hardware is failing, so you are loading a new OS on top of failing hardware (will end up with the same PC that caused you to RELOAD it in the first place!)

Have you verified the HDD is good. from the HDD diagnositc from BIOS boot?

It doesn't say anything about HDD other then that the password box says clear, so I'm assuming it doesn't have one, other then that there isn't anything about HDD
