My recovery number is linked to another account I didn't create.

Hello, I have a yahoo account and I forgot the password for it and I used my recovery number and it took me to a screen where I could see 2 accounts linked to my number, one I had created but the other, I don't know, how to remove that account and will I do an illegal thing if I delete that account, can the person sue me?
