Hi Starfishstef,
Have you tried pasting your data to a new file?
If that doesn't work, could you upload you file (careful with sensitive info) to a free filesharing site like www.speedyshare.com and then post back the download link.
Hopefully when looking at your file we can figure out what is going on.
