Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me please? I would like to be able to use a macro to assist in me an excel spreadsheet.

The task is:
There is data in Columns A to E with up to 150 rows. For each row the data needs to be copied from column D into column G.
For each cell in column G would like to "insert comments" using data in column A and C having a hypen between the data.

Col A Col B Col C Col D Col E Col F Col G
A/C Chq Supplier Amount Date S/S
A16 245545 ABC 156.00 15/07/16 156.00

My knowledge of Macros is very limited and any assistance I could get would be greatly appreciated as it would save me a lot of time in a very repetitive task.

Many thanks

Macros are recorded, not written! Record a macro, performing the function that you wish to complete. Then go in and Edit it (not really, but it will give an idea of how the machine notates the commands). Then you look and see what values are needing to be changed to a variable, and make those changes so it becomes more dynamic. This is just a start, but at least it is in the right direction!
