Laptop black screen

Hello,

I have a Acer laptop I got it for my 16th birthday and one day I was watching Netflix and I guess someone was downloading a file or application of some sort onto my laptop without my knowledge I accidentally hit the power button now it won't got past the Acer screen when I turn it on it shows the Acer screen goes black then repeats its doesn't go further than this please help

How do I know if it has and if it has can it be fixed or do I have to get a new one?
