I had no clue which forum to use, so sorry in advance if I'm wrong. I shut the end of the charger cord in my Acer Aspire E15 at the top right corner of the keyboard. I didn't realize it was there til I picked the laptop up, so it got pinched in there pretty good. Now when I turn it on, the screen is lit up, but gray. It won't do anything else. Can you help?

It's possible you have damaged the screen and it will need to be replace. Any chance you can test using an external monitor?

I have another laptop. What would I need to hook them together?

you can't "hook together" two laptops. You must use a monitor or TV for testing

Ok, now that I've shown my total ignorance, what would I need to hook my laptop to a tv, and where do I hook them together?

If both the TV and the laptop have a HDMI connection then you could use an HDMI cable. Otherwise they might both have a VGA connection and you would use a VGA cable.
