hie all i recently bought a sony 2TB flash drive and been using it without any problem until i tried copying some movies on my friend's laptop. I didnt safely remove it and when i plugged it into my pc it was showing strange letters as its name . I then went to cmd , diskpart and cleaned the whole flash drive with these commands

diskpart.exe
list disk
select disk 2 (in my case it was showing as disk 2)
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
format fs=fat32

and the whole process came to a stop at around 32 percentage , i even left the computer the whole day but still stuck at 32 percentage .so i removed the flash drive , rebooted my pc and reinserted the flash drive back but this time a format pop up message showed up and whenever i try to format the flash drive the whole pc will just slows down and nothing happens.

I tried fixing it with with linux live cd , puupylux ,gparted instructions i found on google but no luck still. please can anybody tell / help me on what exactly i should do or maybe i did something wrong . i wont mind even formating the flash drive to ntfs or whatever format that will make it work again

thanks

Hi

Try this format tool

https://ccm.net/downloads/tools/4639-hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool/

If the tool does not work your pen drive has been damaged beyond repair.

Never remove a pen drive the way you did.

Good luck

Thank you so much +Ambucas your solution worked and my flash drive is working again after trying so many solutions online. And i noticed the flash drive taking sometime to be detected on my pc , do you recommend i use the fat32 or ntfs format which one is best for a flash drive of that size ?

Fat32 I guess. The detection has nothing to do with your flash drive.
