Hi Norien1,
I am sorry for any inconveniency caused by your WD drive. Please connect the drive to your PC and open Disk Management. Is the drive recognized and does it have a correct file format? I strongly recommend you to check the drive on another PC and with another USB cable.
If the drive is not recognized in Disk Management, search for it in Device Manager, under USB devices. Uninstall the drive, restart the PC and reconnect the drive. Sometimes, using an external drive with a TV may lead to sudden drive disconnection while the drive is still in use.
If the drive is not visible in Windows, try connecting it to a Linux PC or using a Linux Live CD to load a Linux OS (no installation is required).
If the situation is the same, but you need the files in the drive, try using data recovery software. Check the link below for some suggestions:

If the files are extremely important, I would suggest you to contact a data recovery company.
