                    Hello Div,
Has the model of your laptop got a RJ45 port? I also would like to know how do you connect to the Internet - via router or a modem?
My advice is to find an Ethernet cable and connect the laptop directly to the router/modem through it. Then, you must go to the Device manager and find the network adaptor so you can update its driver.
You could also do that by going to the website of the laptop's maufacturer or the website of the manufacturer of the network adaptor.
Cheers.
