Acer laptop screen is totally black

Hello, I have a problem with my Acer laptop. When I switch it on all the system lights turn on but the fan starts then stops after a clicking sound is heard. The screen is totally black throughout. I cannot afford to buy a new laptop at the current moment so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
PS I am a computer noob so please dumb down any technical terms.

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

Sorry about that ! It's impossible to make a diagnosis at a distance. I suggest you consult you local repair shop.
