Yahoo email account requires a phone number

Hello,

I need help getting into my Yahoo account. I've had this account for about 20years. I never gave them a phone number and now that's what's required to get in. I put my phone number in and it lets me in to someone's account. I wanna know how is this saver then a password. People change their phone numbers all the time. Then someone else gets that number and can get into your email account.

I believe she has hacked another's account, and she doesn't want to get into theirs, she wants into hers!

No, it works like that. I received such an annoying message on my WORK phone for three days straight, I clicked on the link, it logged me in. I then was FORCED to provide a new password, so I made it PASSWORD. I then went into the account and changed the recover phone number to 800-555-1212. It is nice not getting those messages. Now, if I could figure a way to remove my number from the FREAKING PETA sms texts I keep getting!!!!!
