My desktop keeps dropping wifi connection

Hello,
I've had my desktop computer for 6 months now and just a few days ago my wifi signal keeps dropping in and out every 8 to 10 minutes. My main signal will drop but my guest account will remain visible. Just one thing to mention, my computer didn't come wifi ready. I had to go buy a usb adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps you are getting interference from another router on the same channel. You should be able to log in to the router and change the default channel. If you have a Android phone you can get an app that scans the wifi channels so you can see which channel is the clearest for your location.
