XO FOUR STEALTH TURTLE BEACH HEADSET

I am trying to figure out why my turtle beach headset wont work. I have tried unplugging everything, restarting the console, restarting my controller, but nothing.. It seems to be some sort of issue between the headset adaptor and the controller. Every time I try use it, it wont turn on at all. The connection on the adaptor seems to be undamaged and the same to the controller. It works when I force it upwards a bit but I dont tend to do that cause im affraid thats only making it worst. I need some help on what I should do or whether I need to buy a new headset or controller. Please respond, summer holidays just began and I got some gaming to do with my friends.
