Wont boot all the way

Hello,
my Dell Inspirion 15 turns on and the Dell ligo appears but then it just shows a black screen.

What operating system was it? If you press F2 during boot, what happens?

earlier i clicked on a feature that had to options that read Onboard NIC(IPV4 and IPV6) I dont recall wich one i clicked on and it took me through the process like when you open a new laptop. I was able to open windows 8 and dowload updates and new BIOS version. When computer re-booted it started to tbe same thing and wont boot completely. It starts , the Dell logo appears and a circle spins in front of logo and then it goes black screen.
