I have factory reset my laptop to give to my son for xmas. I have the reset dics and all that is done. now a box pops up saying "windows did not detect any networking hardware" how do I get this back or what the heck happened..

I suggest you download the free copy of SlimDrivers on another computer. Copy the download to a Flash drive and use that drive to install it on the old computer, It should be able to identify, download and install the missing drivers.
