Acer laptop keyboard and mouse touchpad suddenly stopped working

My keyboard and mouse touch pad suddenly stopped working when I unplugged my laptop and I tried all the fixes suggested on the internet. However, just wanted to put a note here that the only solution that worked for me was uninstalling my trial version on Trend Micro anti-virus. My keyboard and mouse touch pad are back to normal after restarting. Never happened once in years of using other anti-virus programs, though!
