I bought a new phone and when I attach it to my laptop via usb, the computer does not detect the SD card. It shows only the phone's internal storage. Because of this I am unable to transfer my audio files etc. How can I rectify this problem?

Hi Perki1Julie,

Is the SD card correctly recognized by the phone? Are there any transfer issues? The best thing to do is to test the card using an adapter. Remove the card from the phone and connect it to a PC. Search Disk Management and confirm if the card is recognized. If it is not, there may be a problem with the SD card. I would recommend you to test it on more than one PC.
In general, sometimes Windows PCs have trouble recognizing devices with connectivity problems. These devices may still be accessible under different OS, like Android, Linux, etc.

Hope this helps
