Can't get screen to show on monitor

Hello,

I have used a previous monitor and put a special setting that dispays the screen only on the previous monitor because I got tired of my laptop screen being on as a extra light, then it broke and now I got a new monitor and can't use it because I press the fn and the buttons and waited for 5 minutes. So is there any way to fix this
