Can't connect!!

Hello,
I'm not able to connect to Internet on my laptop says local area connection unplugged cable?? Restarted disable enabled etc but no luck
Laptop is hp and windows xp
Everywhere else can connect to Internet or phone tablet etc

Is it a wired or wireless connection? Is the WIFI device turned on? Is the wifi blue or orange?
