I have no drop down arrow

I do not have a drop down arrow in the right or left corner of any of my search bars in Gmail. All I have is an eyeglass in the right corner. Without that how can I try to find deleted emails the way described. Is there another way.

click the drop down grey arrow on the left from your search box at the top of the screen
