Subtracting the date of admission to the current date

GOod am, i just want to ask how will i create a formula as follows on the same excel,
1. subtracting the date of admission to the current date
2. if discharge date is available discard the first formula then kindly subtract the discharge from the admission date
my end results shoud be in Days.

aandal, Good morning.

Suppose:

A1 --> Admission Date

B1 --> Discharge date

Try to use:

C1 --> =IF(B1<>"", B1-A1, TODAY()-A1)

Is that what you want?
