Hi Monradess,
You have done good job trying to solve the issue. There may be a monitor issue. I would try using another monitor or a TV and confirm if the problem persists. Another option is to be facing a connectivity issue. If the laptop is under warranty, contact the seller, because if you try to open the PC and fix the issue by yourself, you will void the warranty.

Hello monradess,
You said you've tried, but did you succeed to format it? I think, the most possible reason is that the video chip is expecting some difficulties with its operation. That means in every moment the screen could remain completely black while the fan and the HDD will continue to work.
My advice is to make a backup of all the important stuff saved on the drive. If there's a need for a motherboard replacement, you should have your data safe.
