External tb hard disk asking for format

Hello,

hi this is balaji


i have seagate external tb hard disk, they asking for format but idon't want to format enything important files is there,then how can i solve this problem

I believe the external hard drive file system is corrupted and that is the reason it shows you the formatting error. To use this drive again you need to format it first and don’t worry about your important data you can extract it from the dive with the help of free data recovery software of Stellar Phoenix. DO NOT FORMAT the drive under ANY circumstance
Right My Computer --> Manage --> Disk Management

Right click on long bar of that drive
Select change drive letter and path option
Assign a new drive letter

You should be able to see you data

If no luck, then you will need to use a Data Recovery Program. Do not reformat it.
