my son did something to my phone while i was in a doctors appointment and i cannot get onto my phone anymore because it is locked on google. I have tried numerous times to reset the password but keep getting sent back to the beginning because i dont remember my original gmail password.

We would love to help you, but you must be able to prove that you are the phone's legitimate owner and you can't. Everyday mobiles are stolen, although you may be honest, we do not wish to help potential criminals.
