Can WD My Passport external Hard Disk be traced?

I lost my harddisk somehow can it is possible that the manufacturer or cops can trace it.Please help me

unless you installed special tracking software there is no way to trace your hardware.

I doesn't install software by myself but can it be traced by WD MY SECURITY or WD MY UTILTY software as they came pre-installed so is their any chances they can track it for me
