Laptop don't know password

I have an older laptop my company gave me. I turned it on and it said shutting down due to recently added .....download. I think...then the screen goes blank. I followed instructions noted below and thought I was making progress but no luck. Started in safe mode then Control panel then restore but I don't know password and it would not let me move forward without it. I'm not real computer says would appreciate some help.

Hi Peggy,

There is nothing you can do, the password is a must. However, I have an idea. Why don't you ask someone at your company?
