No sound after installing xp

Hello,
I have done almost all recommendations of different forums on hwo to put sound back into my computer but it seems impossible. I allready update to sp3 and un instal all audio drivers, and them reinstall them from the board cd, but nothing is working. I have spend over 4 days trying other drivers, looking for an aswer or something to try new, but nothing. If someone can help I will really appreciated.
