Sound distorted

Hello,
i formatted my laptop and after wards ,when playing a music with it connected to my hover(my home theater),i couldn't feel its vibrations in it anymore...but i do at first but now the sounds coming out seems to be distorted..what should i do.. cos i need to really get it fixed back.. its a dell (n series.intel pentium)... please send my reply in veronicagolightly@yahoo.com. thanks and will be hoping to hear from you.
