Computer won't connect to skype

Hello,
I've opened a Skype account, paid money in to my account, but my computer won't connect to Skype. I've tried everything I can understand on the help list, still nothing. What's the point of Skype if it won't work? How do I get my money back?

hi there,

have you checked you firewall and enabled it?

open control panel>

press on allow program through windows firewall on security icon

select skype and press ok
