Speakers are not working in my lap (windows x

Hello,
I installed new windows xp pack. Now my lap volume is not working. speakers and headpones also. In the control panel, i cant change the volume controls. what i have to do for getting sound for my laptop.
config: compaq presario c700, windows xp, 1GB RAM. Please help me...

After every format and new windows installation you need to install drivers,download the drivers for the mentioned model on link below from official ebsite:
