Help! sims 3 doesn't work?...Closed

Hi, I have a macOSX version 10.6 which meets all the requirements for the sims 3, I know this because I have the game and I've used it many times before. But for some reason I updated it and the it didn't work! I can't get to the screen where it advertises stuff you can buy to use in your game. Please help... I don't understand... :(
