Cannot open drive E

Hello,

I cannot open my disk drive E,i tried to right click it yet i still cannot open it,when I tried to scan it the following message appears
data error(cyclic redundancy error )..what does this mean?
When ever i double click it the following message comes
disk E needs to be formatted do u want to format it?
If i press yes won't all my files be deleted?i even tried downloading this application cc cleaner it ididnt help
Plzzz help!!

You hard drive has failed or is close to total failure. It's time to replace it.

The CRC error means that when the computer reads the data on the hard disk, that data fails the CRC check. This tells the computer that the data it read is DIFFERENT that the data that was originally written to the drive.

Hey thanxx a lot 4 replying xpcman.replacing it/.oh isn't there any other way of recovering the stuff inside the drive... disk drive d and c are still working...this is terrible:(
