Hello,

my computer goes all the way to loading windows xp then gives a blue screen eror noteing the hard drive ( check for virus and run fchkdisk)

Its a slim gateway will provide model soon

The hard drive works fine in another computer and another hard drive that I have that works in other computers gives the same error. Therefore i know there is no problem with the hard drive.

I replaced the ram but still when I run memtest86 it freezes at about 75% on the first pass. and my laser mouse starts to blink.

I ran pc scope demo and found no problems with the processor
I have a post card to test the mainboard that gives no errors.
neither of these are fool proof tests but they help

could it be the file system? ntfs
thanks for any help

i tried to install a copy of xp ult and now I get a kernal inpage error
installed ult with the hard drive in the computer in question when I first installed xp pro i put the hard drive in another pc for instalation purpose

When I was getting the hard drive blue screen error if I would boot in safe mode it would hang on agp440

going to try to install xp pro with the hard drive in the gateway as well as replaceing the ide cables and the dvd rom.
