Let me throw my grain of salt, the blue screen may also appear when trying to install Windows XP over Windows 7.
If that is the case, go into the bios of your machine. While surfing the bios you should see something like SATA MODE to be on AHCI, you can exchange IDE saves the changes and reboot your machine on the xp cd and see what's happens.

Ambucias i think this user is either making a downgrade or installing xp on sata hard drive ,both are the same that is bsod with xp installation.
Am I right Ashish?
