Laptops built in speakers do not work

Hi,
I am having issues with my Asus X55U-EH11 laptop's external speakers since last night. I was watching a movie with my plug in speaker because it is louder and this morning my laptops built in speakers do not work. The headphones work fine as does the plug in speaker but no sound comes out of the actual speakers. Everything says that the sound is working but nothing is happening. Thanks for any help.

Hi

I got this from this from someone else.

While everything is on, plug the earthingies and unplug them.
