Some of the downloads i can open but most of them wont open

some of the downloads i can open but most of them wont open, i have avast anti virus
its been like that for about two years, and i have had avast for a long time. with never any problems. and i use firefox all the time.

nearly all of them wont open i dont know why there are to many to name
the download folder is at the top of the screen in firefox next to the home button
until it was up there it used to work okay

Open Explorer, my documents, downloads. Open them from that folder
