Frozen at log in screen

I have a toshiba satellite A100 and it runs on windows XP, it has been working fine tell lastnight i turned it off went to eat came back turned it on the it would do the normal start then when i went to click on my name on the log in screen it would freeze. , i have tried safe mode and it doesnt work it just freezes, i dont have the windows disk either. Anyone know how to fix it?

Hello

Sounds like a corrupted operating system or a hard disk failure.

I suggest you try restoring to factory settings. (All of your data will be lost but it's better than a dead computer)
