Hello
, A few months ago, when I went to windows 10 upgrade....There was a question asking me to fill in may e-mail address, deleted by moderator.com. As soon as I pushed enter, I realized I should have put deleted by moderator.com. I later found out that windows sends key information to the originally entered email address. I seem to be in a catch 22. I was just searching for someplace to ask this question......to ask the question in a forum....you have to have the key sent to you in the originally entered email address.....calling it a typo doesn't work either. I can't get into the yahoo address because technically........there is no password, and I'm the owner.......by typo As I see it, I'm locked out of windows 10 things because of a typo......

Hello

How nice!:-)

Windows 10 has nothing to do with Yahoo or Gmail but with Windows Account live.

You probably created a Windows 10, account live user id and password.

This page should help you to recover your password.

Thank you for your reply...it's really a confusing situation so I'll take the replies one at a time......first of all, There is no password to recover. I accidently put in an email address that did not exist, so there's no way I can see to activate it. I was going to use an email I hadn't used in a long time on "gmail", but accidently typed in Yahoo.....Yahoo seems to be windows favorite.....

If there is no password to recover, what do you mean by being locked out of Windows 10?

"Yahoo seems to be windows favorite..." in the contrary, Outlook.com is.

A lot of apps require a password when applying.....they want to send the password to my Yahoo address...hence I have no access to the apps...When I made the error, I didn't think it would matter, but all the little rejections because I can't supply the password....because there is no access to that original email address to retrieve the app password.

Thank you for your suggestion......I can't reinstall windows 10......I think I would have to buy it on disc, so too much of an expense in this my retirement years. I tried a re-install, but because I already used that option....I would then have to buy a disc.

Hi,

It's possible to change the Windows 10 password. For the apps, perhaps if you reinstall Windows you can change the app passwords.

Good luck

I can't change the password....because there is no password. Yahoo was a typo....But it would not be accepted as a typo.....It seems in Windows train of thought....if you have an email address.................................then it has to have a password. They won't look at it as a Typo...because it's all spelled correctly? Y-A-H-O-O.....
