I have a Seagate 1TB expansion portable external hard drive, that is not being recognised by our PC which is running Windows 10. I have tried several cords. It is not recognised by our lap top nor any other lap top. ALL the data on the hard drive is necessary........Please help (also, I am NOT technically minded so please make your answer easy to understand).

Hi Logues3,

You have done good troubleshooting job connecting the drive to another PCs and using different cables. When you connect the drive, can you feel it spinning? Is there any light indicator that turns on? Please check if the drive is recognized in Disk Management (right click on My Computer and select Manage). Does it have drive letter and a file format?
Sadly, there is a chance that your hard drive has failed. Try using some data recovery software in order to save the most important data.

Hope this helps
