Networking & Internetaccess from laptop to pc

Hello,
I bought an old compaq laptop off of ebay that is internet ready. How do I network it to my Vista pc? Secondly, I have comcast (cable) internet, how can I get the internet on my laptop? I don't have any experience with networking.......

hello to setup network first of all you need to prepare a crossover cable, if you don't know then you can purchase it online ot locally. then you need to assign ip address to both, then you can exchange data and share single internet on both. follow the below links.
