Windows xp will not load

My desktop which runs windows xp will not load. I have tried tapping the F8 key to do a system restore. When it starts to load in Last known configuration it loads then stops with a series of windows 32 prompts and goes no further. I have an XP Recovery disk but have not loaded it. The screen will go to the Black Screen of Death. Help

If it's 10 years old the hard disk is probably failing. Time to buy a Chromebook laptop.

Sorry, None of us remember how to fix WIN XP computers.
