One of my email accounts may have been hacked. How can I monitor activity on that account for the relevant few hours last night?

Is there a way of finding out if a lot of messages were downloaded during a vulnerable window of about 3 hours last night?

No, Gmail nor any other email service providers offer that possibility.

Then, should you find out that 50 messages were downloaded, what would you do with information? Best is to think about the present and keep your account safe.
